ASCENDING INTO THE INFINITE
Somebody, once told me that life is a spiral.
If we are willing to grow, we rise on the
updrafts of some mystical energy force
until we ascend into the infinite. They
were 100 percent sure of this.
I, on the other hand, am 99.9 percent
sure of nothing. My .1 percent of certainty
comes from knowing that life is hard and
amazing all in the same breath and its
anybody’s guess where this ride is going.
I would never tell the person who is
certain, they are wrong. Who knows,
maybe they are right, but I am okay with
not having to have it all figured out.
My mission is to love who ever comes
across my path in the way that they
most need to be loved.
Rarely, do people have signs on them
that say please love me this way. But if you
pay attention, you can figure it out. Sometimes
I just ask and they surprise me by telling me
exactly what they need and want, with
no bullshit. Then I do my best to offer
my gifts to their request.
In the end, it’s all a big experiment and
I have a license to learn. This all feels pretty
certain, but let’s just see what today will bring
and lean into the great mystery of it all.
